Treasure

May 14, 2011 by allisonbenotafraid

Here with You I lay it down. All once lost in You is found. Now I know, that You are the way. Oh Lord, You are my treasure. Oh Lord, You are my prize. I wait, for a world that I cannot see with my eyes. In my heart lies a desire; Nothing on earth can quench this fire. So I wait, and look to You. Oh Lord, You are my treasure. Oh Lord, You are my prize. I wait, […]

Prayer Request

May 12, 2011 by allisonbenotafraid

I have been completely overwhelmed by how through all of the struggles of the past three months, I have been blessed.  There are countless people thinking of me and praying for me, and I am so grateful.  When someone tells me that their entire church is praying for me, it’s hard for me to even conceptualize how much love that is!  Please know of my thankfulness for all you are doing for me.  Whether you are praying, calling, writing, or […]

Carry You (A Song for My Amazing Mom)

May 8, 2011 by allisonbenotafraid

Happy Mother’s Day! My mom is incredible, and as a new mom this year, I am especially grateful for the beautiful example of selfless love she has given me.  All of my life she has made me feel deeply loved, and supported me through everything.  Since being diagnosed with cancer, I have been even more carried by her love. Because John Paul can’t come to my many doctor’s appointments (even when I’m not getting chemo it isn’t safe for him), […]

Who Was and Is and Is to Come

May 6, 2011 by allisonbenotafraid

When Mike and I lived in Colorado I sang every week at mass with a group of amazing people.  I loved singing each week not only because of how kind and fun the members of the band were, but even more so because worshipping God in that way changed my relationship with Him.  Over the months that I began worshipping God consistently and in such an intimate way, I found myself praying and talking with God much more honestly than […]

I trust in you God.

May 1, 2011 by allisonbenotafraid

By, Mike. Today not only marks the beatification of Blessed John Paul II.  It is also Divine Mercy Sunday.  Many Catholics know little about this special day (I had never heard of it until Allison mentioned it to me this morning), perhaps because it achieved official recognition by the Church only recently.  Divine Mercy Sunday is rooted in the writings of the Polish Saint Faustina, who experienced a vision in which Jesus encouraged her to spread the word of God’s […]

Beatification of Pope John Paul II

May 1, 2011 by allisonbenotafraid

Especially on this day, on the occasion of his beatification, we pray for the intercession of Blessed John Paul II.  We pray for strength, courage, and healing for all those who suffer.  We also pray in thanksgiving for the gifts the Great Pope so emphasized during his life: the love of family, the joy of friendship, and the eternal grace of our God.

I'm Allison, a stay at home mom to a sweet little boy. I love days with my son, my sweet husband, beating cancer, Blessed JP II, singing at mass, Notre Dame, taking pictures, L'Arche, and white wine. Here's where I write about life. Welcome!
